The 'Trainspotting' sequel to hit U.S. at secret SXSW screening

A tad over 20 years after the world first got a glimpse of the wild world of Renton, Sick Boy, and Spud in Trainspotting, America will get its first look at where they are now in the film’s sequel on Sunday night in Austin. 

T2 Trainspotting will make its U.S. debut at a “secret screening” at SXSW. Directed by Danny Boyle, who directed the first film, the film is loosely based on the book Porno by Irvine Welsh, who also penned the book that the first film was based off on.

Boyle and Ewan McGregor, who return from the original film, will be doing a Q&A after Sunday’s screening, according to Variety, and continue doing press on Monday.  Read more…
